Strategic career decision making

This IN PERSON session is available to PGRs, research staff and research-related professional services staff from the University of Liverpool. This workshop provides structure and opportunity to reflect on the process of career decision making, to help reduce stress, overcome inertia and make sure you get clarity on your next steps.

Session outline/ plan:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

• Understand the internal and external factors influencing your career decision making  
• Identify strategies to gain perspective, new ideas and better information 
• Outline the steps you can take to feel more confident during the job-hunting process and de-risk your decisions.  

Presenter information:

Elizabeth Adams, She/ Her 

Elizabeth is a coach and consultant with over 15 years' experience in researcher development. Her main focus is on academic leadership / career coaching and research culture.  

She has also worked as an innovation consultant, brokering partnerships between large engineering companies and SMEs or researchers, and as an analytical chemist in the Pharma industry.  

Elizabeth brings a strong understanding of how support and interventions at individual, team and organisational level can help to embed a culture of creativity, innovation and collaboration, where people can grow and develop.
